Worldwide participation in the DATA MINING CUP Contest 2004
A large number of national and international students took part in the this year’s DATA MINING CUP Contest to using their knowledges in practice.
Chemnitz, 17.5.2004
Students of national and international universities, advanced technical colleges as well as universities of cooperative education have been called up for finding a solution of a data analysis problem. The Contest was finished on May 13, 2004.
425 participants of 166 universities 32 countries are registrated and have sent in their solution model till May 13, 2004.
Among them are students oft the International Institute of Information Technology Indien, Honk Kong University, Arizona State University, University of Washington, National University of Singapore, University of South Africa, University of Toronto, University Buenos Aires etc.
The DMC Jury, there are
Prof. Dr. Werner Dilger of the Technical University of Chemnitz
Dr. Wolfgang Martin, Analyst
Dr. Gernot Schreib of Quelle AG
Dr. Peter Gentsch of the Institute of Electronic Business e.V. and
Dr. Andreas Ittner of the prudsys AG
will take care of the results and will find out the best participants of the contest.
Within the scope of the DATA-MINING-CUP User Event Days 2004 (June 22-24, 2004) the winner of the contest will be announced. The first prize is a participation in the international Data-Mining-Conference "Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining" (KDD 2004) which will take place from August 22-25, 2004 in Seattle, USA.
The conference will inform about news and trends in the fields of Data Mining and Analytical CRM and will present many case studies from reputed companies.
Because of the worldwide response a reissue of the DMC Constest will start in 2005.
