Biographie
To facilitate the dialogue between BI-Professionals from Universities, User-Companies, Software Manufacturers and Consultants Marcus Pilz is a board member of the „Data Warehousing Institute, Germany (TDWI)“.
Additionally, Mr. Pilz is an editor of the journal “BI-Spektrum”.
For various years, Marcus Pilz has been a project manager on several projects in the Central Unit IT-Development of Germany’s fourth largest bank, 'Commerzbank AG'. His projects focus on development, support and maintenance of BI-Technology.
For example, he developed a .net, JavaScript and SAS based system for flexible ad hoc analysis.
Or – based on Java and HTML – his project developed a rapid, web-based function to enter data into various data marts.
Located in the 'Center of Competence Data Warehouse', he has the product responsibility for a decision support system which is used world wide by 1,000 users who perform approx. 400,000 analyses per year.

“Therefore we continuously develop our analytical systems with our internal customers in focus.”
Mr. Pilz has also spent time in industry. Originally educated in business administration in Germany and the U.K., he worked as assistant director and programming specialist using several programming languages.
In his studies, he specialised on working psychology and statistics.
Another focal point of his studies was artificial intelligence, especially the usage of neural networks in Data Mining.
Mr. Pilz has been trainer for approx. twenty years and speaks regularly at international and national conferences
