Data Mining around the world ...
Each year national and international educational institutions from over 40 countries take part in the DATA-MINING-CUP (DMC) competition. The DMC competition is therefore the largest Data Mining contest in the world.

With this student competition that takes place in spring each year, prudsys AG, one of the leading data mining companies, wants to enthuse domestic and international students for intelligent data analysis (data mining) and challenge them to find the best solution to a data mining problem in competition with others.

For the first time the DMC 2009 competition will be open to teams. Each educational institution (university, technical university, vocational university etc.) can have two teams (refer to participation conditions for more information).

The challenge ...
As every year the focus of the DMC 2009 will be on a data mining issue. To make the task as practical as possible, this time Libri GmbH is supporting the DATA-MINING-CUP as a special competition partner. Details of the task will be published at the start of the competition on 15th April 2009.

The reward ...
The best teams will get an attractive prize:
1st place: EUR 2,500.00
2nd place: EUR 1,500.00
3rd place: EUR 1,000.00

prudsys will publish who are some of the best up-and-coming data miners during its user days on 23rd June 2009. The best three teams will receive an invitation in advance and will present their suggested solution in a short presentation slot.
