DATA MINING CUP (DMC for short) 2021 starts on April 13th. This year, the worldwide student competition will ask participants to create a clever recommendation model for an online book shop.
Through the COVID-19 pandemic, e-commerce has continued to rise in importance. To capture shopper loyalty, retailers are turning to product recommendations. A strong product recommendation engine can provide personalized advice on the basis of the click and transaction data.
This year, the DATA MINING CUP is focused on this topic specifically. Students worldwide will be asked to develop a model that calculates suitable book recommendations for customers of an online book shop. The best recommendation model, identified by receiving the best customer results, will win DMC 2021.
The teams will have a total of 11 weeks to submit their solutions. So far, 83 teams from 19 countries have registered for the DMC 2021. Interested participants can register until June 28, 2021, one day before the submission deadline, via the URL: https://www.data-mining-cup.com/dmc-2021.
