Who doesn’t dream of a big lottery windfall? The problem to be solved in the DATA MINING CUP (DMC) Competition 2008 brings us closer to this dream. The South German Class Lottery (SKL) is a large state lottery in Germany. In cooperation with state-accredited lottery agent Günther, this year’s DMC competition will examine the personal data of lottery participants.
The DATA MINING CUP Competition 2008 topic consists of predicting, at the beginning of the lottery, how long participants will participate. The data was graciously given to us by state accredited lottery agent Günther in conjunction with Acxiom. The data was prepared by GDS Günther Direct Services, which acts as a service provider for the state accredited lottery agent Günther in all direct marketing matters. We would like to thank all of the institutions involved in preparing the data and we wish all participants good luck in solving the problem for the DATA MINING CUP 2008.
